There’s always a silver lining, and our current lock down situation is no different. Whether you like it or not, we have (a lot) more time on our hands, which means we’ve finally got time for the things we are forever putting off!
Here’s 5 things you’ve finally got time for, I’m sure there’s more not on this list too!
1. Organise The Pantry
Most of us love to hate sorting and organising our pantry, but there is something both cathartic and rewarding about having an organised pantry. Whether the end result is “Insta-worthy” or not is beyond the point, it should be functional, clean and make cooking or baking a much more enjoyable experience.

It may not be spring but it sure is a great time for a spring clean!
Most of us are cleaning regularly to help stop the spread of germs but now is also a good time to declutter or organise areas of your home.
Get rid of that holey t-shirt you’ve had for ten years, pack away those summer clothes (sad face) and sort out what items you can donate.
Or take it outdoors and clean your car. If you’re anything like me, you’ve been putting this off for a while (eek)! Now that we no longer use our cars every day, we can give it the TLC it deserves. Grab the hose, vacuum the crumbs, polish those headlights and scrub those rims!

3. Catching Up On Binge-Worthy TV Shows
Nowadays we have endless options when it comes to streaming, so why don’t we take full advantage of them?! If you’re like me, you’ve got tonnes of saved shows and movies in your list which you never really get around to watching… It’s the perfect time to binge!
Don’t forget to take advantage of free trials! Strategically set them up so you’re getting four weeks of free streaming content. 1 week of one, 2 weeks of another one and so forth. From there, choose which one takes your fancy!
4. Get Fit!
We really don’t have any excuses not to exercise anymore! Not only is it good for our mental health but it’s something to do, am I right?
With so many new (and existing) workout apps popping up, it’s the perfect time to trial some. Whether you’ve been wanting to get into yoga, Pilates, box fit or HIIT, there seems to be an app for just about anything and everything!
Make some room in your garage, spare room or outside and give it a go!

5. DIY & Outside Jobs
If you’re like many Kiwis who made a trip to the hardware or garden store before lockdown, then I know what you’ll be doing for the next few weeks!
Enjoy the fresh air and get some vitamin D by getting in the garden. Pull the weeds, plant those winter veggies and enjoy the warmer weather while you can.
If you’re painting or DIY’ing around the house dodge the rain or those colder days. Plan your outside work around the weather and if all else fails, get undercover and continue with your project.
And if you’ve done all of those already… you’re screwed! Ha ha, only joking!
Some days might be a struggle but do something you enjoy, get some fresh air and spend some time with your bubble members. Whether they’re family, friends or pets, enjoy their company and take some time to relax. Above all, stay safe and be kind.
