Valentine’s Day is a special day to celebrate with your loved ones and enjoy their presence and the joy they bring into your life. Make Valentine’s Day extra sweet this year with our creative and tasty treat. You and your children can have fun making these special Love Heart straws and then enjoy using them with your sweet Love Struck Potion drink.
Love Heart Straws What you need: Paper or plastic straws in a print or colour of your choice. Glitter paper (available from craft stores or Kmart) Scissors Glue Pencil Clips
Method: Step 1: Print or draw a heart shape on cardboard and cut it out. This will be used as your stencil to get symmetrical heart shapes.
Step 2: Place on glitter paper and use a pencil to trace around the stencil shape.
Step 3: Cut out the heart shape from the glitter paper. Repeat step 2 and 3 to get a second heart shape.
Step 4: Place one heart shape on the table, glitter side facing down. Put glue on the back of the heart shape and place a straw down on the heart approximately a quarter from the top.
Step 5: Glue the back side of the remaining heart and then match it up to the heart on the opposite side of the straw.
Step 6: Use clips to hold in place until glue dries. Once the glue has dried you can remove the clips.
All done! Now you are ready to use your heart straw.
Love Struck Potion Drink What you need: Pink soda drink or an alternative is lemonade with a drop of pink food colouring Vanilla ice-cream A glass
Method: Step 1: Place 1 scoop of ice-cream into your glass.
Step 2: Half fill your glass with pink soda drink or your alternative drink. Watch it bubble away and enjoy drinking it through your heart straw.
