Top 3 Tips for Entryway Styling
Your entryway is the first thing you and your guests see when entering your home. Often bombarded with the out-the-door rush, most entryways are enough to scare anyone away – and are hardly the ‘welcome home’ you want after being out all day. So with this in mind, we have put together our top 3 tips for styling your entryway so it exudes style and comfort rather than chaotic clutter.
The Right Table Makes all the Difference
When it comes to entryway tables, you need one that fits the space. If you have a small, narrow entryway a large bulky table will quickly overwhelm any area. A tall, slimline desk or cabinet will create a sense of openness and generate that welcoming feeling you want – not to mention providing extra storage room underneath. Selecting a table with drawers is also a good idea. That way unsightly clutter such as mail, wallets and keys can still be on hand but out of sight.
Variety is the Spice of Life
When it comes to choosing and arranging the décor, don’t be afraid to mix it up. Use objects in varying heights, shapes and sizes to create balance and interest. Big framed prints, figurines, candles, statues, plants and bowls – all work well to create different layers and textures. Try arranging items in a larger tray on the table – not only does this add depth to the design, it is easily portable to somewhere else in your home if you feel like a change.
Pillows and Blankets and Baskets…Oh My!
If you have room to work with underneath your table – whether space on the floor or a shelf – use this area for additional storage. Fabric baskets and crates work well for housing hats, scarves and shoes. Try styling a large floor cushion and textured throw underneath the table. This creates a great first impression and exudes comfort and style to all who enter your home.
